The Project HEAL- Seattle Chapter is seeking warm, friendly, and passionate volunteers in the Seattle area to join their Chapter board as a General Chapter Volunteer. The specific tasks involved with this opportunity will vary depending on the specific interests and skills of volunteers (e.g. those with experiencing helping plan events might be a good fit to assist in event planning for the Chapter or volunteer at specific events; those with a background in marketing might be a great fit to work with the Chapter's social media/marketing team to strategize/launch new Chapter specific campaigns; etc). Below are some very basic potential tasks affiliated with serving as a General Chapter Volunteer, but more specific tasks will be discussed with the Chapter Leadership.
Some of the primary tasks involved:
- Assist with brainstorming/planning fundraising and awareness/education event planning
- Secure sponsorships within the community
- Outreach for donations
- Support community outreach/networking efforts
- Assist with creating/launching Chapter specific marketing campaigns/initiatives
- Volunteering at Chapter events
- Attend local Chapter board meetings
- Lead/co-lead educational presentations about eating disorders locally
- Provide recovery talks to clients at local treatment centers (*For volunteers in eating disorder recovery)
All Chapter general board members require a 6-month commitment from volunteers. The time commitment for this role can be somewhat flexible and will not exceed more than 5 hours per week.
This is a great opportunity for anyone in Seattle with an interest in helping people affected by eating disorders and body image issues.
