The Longmont Team of Boulder Valley ICO (Inspiring Connections Outdoors) is an outreach program, affiliated with the Sierra Club, that provides free nature outings and wilderness adventures to children and families who would not otherwise have these opportunities. We eliminate all barriers to participation in outdoor adventure by organizing and leading the outings, providing food and transportation, and outfitting all parties from head to toe. In so doing, we hope to enrich the lives of participants while helping to build a new and more diverse generation of environmental stewards.
We are a team within Boulder Valley ICO, so please join us by visiting the Volunteer page at www.boulderico.org and following the steps to Quick Join the program.
If you have any questions, please contact Joy at weigel.joya@gmail.com.

Mission Statement
Boulder Valley Inner City Outings aims to enrich the lives of our participants and to instill in these children wonder and respect for nature and wilderness. We are a non-political entity, focused on sharing our love of the outdoors with children who would not have these experiences any other way.
Description
Boulder Valley Inner City Outings is an outreach program of the Sierra Club that takes children from low-income families in Boulder County on free nature outings and wilderness adventures. Our outings include everthing from snowshoeing to multi-day backpacking.
We do not preach environmentalism to participants. Instead, we take children to amazing places at let nature to the talking.
We also run a free youth leadership for program participants that teaches the basics of outdoor leadership, advanced outdoor skills, some earth and life science, critical thinking skills, and the basics of environmental stewardship.
We also run a water sampling and fly fishing program in partnership with the City of Boulder, Boulder Flycasters, and Water Sentinels (the Sierra Club's national water sampling and stewardship program).CAUSE AREAS
