Basketball coaches needed to provide instruction to more than 100 youth and adults with intellectual disabilities. Teams range from 1:1 basic skills development, half court basketball, and many levels of 5:5 squads. Practices are Saturday mornings 10-11:30a or Sunday afternoons at 4-5p, and 5-6:30p based on team chosen. No prior basketball nor coaching experience required, just a positive attitude!

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympic athletes and the community.
Description
SOOC offers 18 sports year-round to more than 300 athletes of all ages and skill levels with developmental disabilities.
