ORGANIZATION: Volunteers of America Los Angeles

Volunteers of America of Los Angeles (VOALA) implemented the Community Restorative Healing Project (CoRe) program to serve young adult victims of gang violence in Los Angeles. One of the objectives of this program is, to maintain a relationship with a mentor for 12 months or longer. A mentor, will provide young adult victims of gang violence the opportunity to explore career options, seek leadership guidance, education resources, support with developing social and decision-making skills, and continue to build a positive supportive social network.
