Are you looking for a way to make a difference? Do you have a kind heart and a compassionate presence? Are you looking for a volunteer opportunity that allows you to impact others while also being impacted yourself?

Sojourn Hospice is currently seeking volunteers to serve our patients and their families around the Bay Area. Our volunteers are welcomed as a valuable part of our caring team. Some tasks that a volunteer may do include sitting in companionable silence with someone, reading aloud to someone, holding conversation, walking a dog, tending a garden, giving a family caregiver a break by sitting with their loved ones, etc.

No experience is necessary. We provide in depth training and ongoing support. Our spring training course will be beginning soon! Please contact our volunteer coordinator to reserve your spot in the training course!

Volunteer schedules are flexible, and based on the volunteer's availability.

To learn more about this life changing opportunity, contact our volunteer coordinator at mrasavanh@sojournhospice.com or call our office at 408-324-0700.

"Hand in Hand on Your Journey".

Description

Sojourn Hospice, a program of Healthy Living, Inc., is a hospice serving Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties. We are dedicated to supporting individuals and their families on the journey through the final stages of life. The physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental challenges specific to this experience can be overwhelming for the family and the person with a terminal illness. Sojourn Hospice volunteers receive specialized training in providing compassionate presence and practical support to the individual and the family. Simple human kindness is especially valued and appreciated in these difficult times. Providing even brief moments of relief for patients and their families is so needed and appreciated by those receiving End Of Life care. The rewards of participating in a community joining as a compassionate circle of support can be profound and life changing for all.
