Providence ElderPlace is an innovative program of services for older adults. Providence ElderPlace helps older adults remain as healthy and independent as possible in the community for as long as possible.

In Home Friendly Visitors: The ElderPlace In HomeFriendly Visitors program provides one-on-one support to our participants within their living environment outside of the ElderPlace facilities. ElderPlace participants live throughout King County.

We are looking for a female volunteer to visit an isolated senior gentleman. He has a variety of leisure interests; including crossword puzzles, sci-Fi and adventure movies, You Tube (likes to watch Steven Colbert and Trevor Noah videos), and online jigsaw puzzles. He is able to visit the Seattle Public Library site to reserve books and DVDs. He recently checked out his first audiobook. He enjoys writing and would like to return to this interest--he was working on a Sci-Fi story. He reads the newspaper or watchs the news to keep up with current events.
Optimal visiting days are Friday or Saturday, or any evening.

  • Ability to engage with many types of people
  • Good listening skills
  • Dependable
  • 18 + years of age

A general new volunteer orientation of two hours is required as well as an in home volunteer orientation of one to five hours, depending on need for this opportunity.

Providence ElderPlace is an innovative program of health care and social services for older adults. Our model of care is known as PACE (Program of All Inclusive Care for the Elderly).Participants attend the Providence ElderPlace Center on a regular basis, and transportation is provided. The ElderPlace team of health care and social service professionals and our affiliates provide comprehensive integrated care to our participants.
