Mission Statement
The mission of Family Promise of North Idaho is to transform lives for homeless children and their families. The Family Promise vision is to serve our community through partnerships so every child and their family has a home, a livelihood, and the chance to fulfill their dreams.
Description
When homeless children with families in our community come to Family Promise of North Idaho, most often they are in desperate need and feel hopeless. The families have exhausted whatever resources they had, and have nowhere else to turn.
Family Promise provides much needed guidance, shelter, and support through our staff and a network of compassionate and caring volunteers while the families get their lives on track. While in our program, our families receive support from our case manager through financial literacy and life skills education, help with transportation, and other needs that impact their success on an individual basis.
Our 90-day program enables over 80% of our children with families experiencing homelessness find permanent employment and affordable housing. Volunteers provide our families with hospitality and kindness. With the support of our staff, volunteers, hospitality network and community, our families are able to complete our program supported, confident and ready for long term housing.
