ORGANIZATION: U.S. Navy Seabee Museum
Please visit the new page to apply.
The U.S. Navy Seabee Museum (USNSM) strives to build a comprehensive and robust museum outreach program that includes an engaging and interactive tour program for K-12 students and ready-to-use classroom curriculum for educators. It is very important that our new programs meet the needs of the local school districts and the USNSM is requesting help from the teaching community.
The USNSM is building a Museum Education Advisory Board to assist and guide the museum team in the development of new curricula and we are asking administrators to distribute this information to their networks. At the Museum, a focus on creativity and innovation, critical thinking and problem solving, communication, and collaboration is the foundation of the Museum's education program. Education programming at the museum will fall under the umbrella of:
- History
- Technology
- Foreign Policy
- Leadership
- Arts and Culture
Serving as a member of the Museum Education Advisory Board is a volunteer position that requires a one-year commitment. Much of the education content development will occur during the summer of 2018 so that the museum will be ready to accept school groups in the fall. Educators and administrators who participate will receive a small stipend for their service.
For those who are interested, please email your résumé to USNSMvolunteer.fct@navy.mil or call 805-982-1249 for additional information.
