A local food bank is looking for someone who can analyze and report on the levels of key foods to assist in decision making about purchases. The information directly helps the food bank in the distribution and replenishment activities associated with distributing food to their clients.

The area to be inventoried includes a freezer, refrigerator and two 40 foot containers.

The information is forwarded to appropriate Food Bank Board members for their action.
This job helps to improve distribution and nutrition for clients as well as contributing to cost controls in a timely manner.

It is estimated this job could be done twice a month and take about 2 hours each time. The usual day is Tuesday and the usual time is between 1-4pm.

This opportunity is posted by RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) assisting those over age 55 in finding meaningful volunteer jobs. You do NOT have to be 55 to apply.

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Snohomish County matches skills/training and preferences of persons 55+ to available volunteer opportunities and promotes their voluntary service as a valuable community resource.

Description

RSVP matches personal interests, skills and lifelong experiences with non-profit public organizations at over 116 different partner agencies, including non-profits, throughout the county. Benefits of being an RSVP volunteer are: ~excess insurance coverage including Liability, Auto, and Accident. ~partial reimbursement for transporatation costs to and from volunteer stations, subject to certain regulations and limits. ~ongoing recognition and Annual Recognition Event to RSVP volunteers. The only agency tracking and reporting the volunteer activities of persons age 55 and older through the National Senior Corps, RSVP promotes retired and senior persons as viable members of the community, able to share their skills, time and experience through volunteer service.
