Mission Statement
The Songwriters’ Association of Washington (SAW) is a community of aspiring and professional songwriters dedicated to cultivating excellence in song craft. Established as a non-profit organization in 1979, SAW continues to develop, promote, and encourage songwriters through education, networking, and performance opportunities throughout the Washington DC metropolitan area.
Description
SAW holds and sponsors concerts, open mics, showcases, song circles and other musical events throughout the Washington DC and also offers songwriting workshops and other educational programs. Our SAW Serves program brings food, music and human connection to where it's needed most. SAW collaborates with other area music non-profits, such as Focus Music and FAME (Frederick Area Music Enterprise) to offer special events and programming.
