Code Platoon is a non-profit coding bootcamp for Veterans and military spouses. In 14 weeks, our students work incredibly hard to learn how to become professional software developers.
We are looking for someone who has experience as a military recruiter, and can fulfill a similar (virtual) role. We get many veterans and spouses who start our lengthy application process, but never complete it. Ideally this volunteer will communicate with applicants, encourage them to complete the application, and help answer (non-technical) questions along the way.
If you like the idea helping veterans and spouses make a life-changing decision to go through our program, and know that all they need is a little encouragement and follow up to see them get started, then this role could be for you!

Code Platoon transforms veterans and military spouses into professional software developers through an immersive, hands-on, educational process and paid internship program.
Description
Code Platoon is a 501(c)3 non-profit that helps veterans and military spouses transition into the civilian workforce by providing technical training and career placement. For 15 weeks the students are immersed in learning the full web development stack, including Python (or Ruby), Django (or Rails), JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. No previous programming skills are required. After completing the program the veteran or military spouse will be hirable as a junior full-stack web developer and eligible for an internship.
