Community Based Mentoring
Big Brothers Big Sisters - Pikes Peak.
El Paso County, Colorado
Community Based Mentoring: Volunteers are matched with a child (ages 9 to 12) to be that youth's mentor and friend, engaging in whatever activities are mutually enjoyable and beneficial. Volunteers commit to a minimum of one year, spending time with the same child two to four times each month. Big Brothers Big Sisters staff members support the mentors and the match relationship, offering suggestions, counsel, guidance and assistance.
Volunteers must be 21 years of age, possess a valid driver's license and auto-insurance, and be able to pass an extensive background check.
This is our traditional mentoring program, for which Big Brothers Big Sisters is best and most known for, nationally.
Presently, we are in need of men to volunteer to be mentors (Big Brothers). We currently have several Little Brothers enrolled waiting to be matched with a Big. Please consider volunteering! Also, please spread the word to others you think would be a great role model to a child.
