Big Brothers Big Sisters - Pikes Peak
Colorado Springs CO
Mentor2.0 matches high school students from Atlas Preparatory School with college-educated mentors in the community of Colorado Springs, providing those students with support and guidance through their high school career to prepare them for the future.
The majority of the mentorship is done over a secure online platform (iMentor), as a "pen pal mentorship," allowing busy professionals to their flex their time-investment around their schedules. In addition, there are monthly events for in-person mentoring facilitated by Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Volunteers must be 21 years of age and have the equivalent credit hours of a two-year college degree.
Volunteers must also be willing to commit to the program for four years, as we try to make matches from freshman year through graduation. We want students to have an examples of consistency and commitment in their lives, since many of them are lacking that.
This opportunity may be a great way for your corporations and businesses to get their employees to invest in their community, since the monthly events will allow them to be together as a group!
Right now, we still need some mentors for the current freshman class. However, we will need around 130 volunteers for the upcoming school year, and its freshman class of students.
Please consider volunteering!
