We will be working with their Sacred Roods program, which is a program that encourages indigenous people to get back to eating the foods that would have been traditionally grown in this region. Teens will learn about the importance of low income families having access to healthy, fresh foods and why health, wellness and traditional eating is important to indigenous people. Work will revolve around preparing the community garden and other program areas for planting and growing foods and plant medicines with some planting possible depending on weather. For teens in grades 6 - 12.
