Oakland Nature Preserve Saturday Community Work Day
- A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
10 people are interested
Come join us the every Saturday from 7:45 am to 12:00 pm. We work on various projects at the Preserve such as habitat restoration, trail maintenance, removal of invasive plant species, upkeep of our Pioneer Garden, and much more!
While at the Preserve, volunteers will learn about habitat restoration and how to identify both native & non-native plants. All of our habitat restoration at the Preserve is done by volunteers, with more than 5,000 hours of service completed per year here! Through volunteer effort, Oakland Nature Preserve has increased its native plant population, providing vital habitat for gopher tortoises, bobcats, and various bird species.
By volunteering with Oakland Nature Preserve, not only will you enjoy a day outdoors, but you become part of our awesome volunteer restoration legacy!
We also sign off on any community service hours.
Volunteers should wear close-toed shoes, and long-pants are preferable. Please bring a reusable water bottle and work gloves.
