Catalyst for Fundraising Success

501 Commons is seeking volunteer fundraising consultants to participate in its Catalyst for Fundraising Success cohort learning program. Catalyst helps nonprofits reach their fund development goals, such as writing a development plan, working with a donor database, preparing for a first development hire, and developing a case for support. Consultants work in pairs, working collaboratively with a nonprofit team that consists of staff and board members. Visit our website for more program details.

Time Commitment

Catalyst runs from June 2018 - December 2018. The time commitment is 10-12 hours per month (or 2-3 hours per week) with an average of two in-person meetings per month with your organization (typically in the county you live/work in). Additionally, we provide two consultant round tables in our Seattle office to support consultants, provide assessment, and facilitate peer to peer learning and networking opportunities.

Volunteer with an Impact

If you have experience with donor development, donor databases, grantwriting, major gifts, fundraising events, or any other area of nonprofit fundraising, contact us! We are looking for volunteers with at least two years of development experience in King, Pierce, Kitsap, and Snohomish County. This is a great opportunity for development consultants to work together in an active learning program that has great impact on individual organizations. Your volunteering makes this program financially accessible to a diverse range of nonprofits in Washington State.

Be a Catalyst for Change!

Description

501 Commons was founded in 1989 as Executive Service Corps of Washington. In 2010, we changed our name to 501 Commons, reflecting a changing role and broader range of services. Most of our clients are in the Pacific Northwest, but many of our services are available to nonprofits in other geographic areas.

Our name is based on the principle of the "the commons." The commons can be characterized as having five distinct attributes:

  1. Free and uncoerced participation
  2. A shared purpose
  3. Jointly held resources
  4. A sense of mutuality
  5. Relationships that are characterized by justice and fairness

Our Theory of Practice describes how we approach our work and our Team Charter describes how our team of 45+ work together to serve our clients.

501 Commons is a 501(c)(3) tax-deductible, nonprofit, charitable organization and is a member of the Executive Service Corps - United States. By volunteering your time to 501 Commons, you are impacting the success of over 2,000 organizations each year. Join us!
