Adult ESL Class (Chamblee)- Help Adults learn English- MORNING CLASSES

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Catholic Charities Atlanta

Make a big impact in someone's life! Help adults learn to speak English!

We are recruiting volunteers 18 and over with excellent English language skills to teach and assist at our office in Chamblee. Students attend classes for 3 hours. The first hour is led by the lead instructor. The last 2 hours are where we need volunteers to lead smaller groups.

Morning classes are Mondays through Thursdays and volunteers are needed from approximately 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The ideal commitment we seek from volunteers is to be in a classroom once a week or a minimum of 3 times per month.

Prior to starting, all volunteers will attend an orientation and training. Training includes going through the textbook, how to teach a lesson and how to summarize a lesson. No experience is needed, just the desire to help someone learn English!

All volunteers go through a formal application process which includes a background and references check. There is also a 1-hour agency orientation and 2-hour ESL-specific training. Volunteers must also attend quarterly meetings to review updated materials and/or changes to the program.
