American Red Cross volunteer leaders work to ensure the delivery of a variety of Red Cross programs and services to the military community.
Key Responsibilities
* Willingness to support the Red Cross mission.
* Manage and serve in advisory capacity.
Depending upon the position, responsibilities may include:
* Promoting Red Cross programs and activities
* Recruiting and assigning volunteers to meet a variety of community needs
* Coordinate and schedule required volunteer training
* Maintaining volunteer program records
* Providing support to Red Cross instructors and facilitators
* Liaise with military authorities on installation disaster preparedness and response
* Maintaining volunteer records; reporting and tracking volunteer hours
* Overseeing volunteer recognition events
* Attending a variety of volunteer and installation meetings
Qualifications
Dependent upon leadership position, qualifications may include:
* Knowledge of military protocol and culture; Knowledge of community resources
* Ability to work effectively with a team and develop strategic program planning
* Ability to recruit and involve volunteers
* Strong communication skills, oral and written
* Basic computer skills
* Supervisory skills; ability to resolve local volunteer issues
* Knowledge of Red Cross structure
Time Commitment
Position 1: Mondays & Thursdays 9:00am to 2:00pm
Position 2: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Fridays 9:00am to 2:00pm
