The Chair of Volunteers is a volunteer management position that directly supervises the other volunteers and works under the direction and supervision of the Station Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities Support Red Cross Mission Manage the process of recruiting, training and developing volunteers to effectively utilize their skills and talents to assist the community Work with the Station Management Team to assist in developing a diversified volunteer staff to support the community in delivering Red Cross services Keep the Station Management Team informed of volunteer activities, meetings and other pertinent information Submit monthly program reports to the Station Management Team As requested, represent the Station Management Team on post, in surrounding communities, at state and regional functions and activities Conduct appropriate volunteer needs assessments throughout the community Conduct both an annual recognition event and recognition activities throughout the year Ensure volunteer records are maintained and transferred according to ARC policies and procedures. Qualifications MUST HAVE MILITARY BASE ACCESS American Red Cross Background Check Ability to work effectively as a member of the American Red Cross team Knowledge of Red Cross structure, services, policies, and procedures Ability to relate well with people Knowledge of community resources and needs Ability to recruit, involve, and develop volunteers Time Commitment
