The Chair of Volunteers is a volunteer management position that directly supervises the other volunteers and works under the direction and supervision of the Station Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Red Cross Mission
- Manage the process of recruiting, training and developing volunteers to effectively utilize their skills and talents to assist the community
- Work with the Station Management Team to assist in developing a diversified volunteer staff to support the community in delivering Red Cross services
- Keep the Station Management Team informed of volunteer activities, meetings and other pertinent information
- Submit monthly program reports to the Station Management Team
- As requested, represent the Station Management Team on post, in surrounding communities, at state and regional functions and activities
- Conduct appropriate volunteer needs assessments throughout the community
- Conduct both an annual recognition event and recognition activities throughout the year
- Ensure volunteer records are maintained and transferred according to ARC policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- MUST HAVE MILITARY BASE ACCESS
- American Red Cross Background Check
- Ability to work effectively as a member of the American Red Cross team
- Knowledge of Red Cross structure, services, policies, and procedures
- Ability to relate well with people
- Knowledge of community resources and needs
- Ability to recruit, involve, and develop volunteers
Time Commitment
Negotiated with the Station Coordinator with a recommendation of 1 day a week
