Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Global Green USA

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

Project Needed:

With the increasing amount of extreme weather events, comes many disturbances. This includes contamination of soil caused by the disruption to critical infrastructure (e.g. wastewater treatment plants), industrial sources and residences.

Global Green is working in the areas of both urban resilience and compost use to improve urban soils. We're seeking help from experts in the fields of soil science and construction to help us determine where soil and compost can fit as a part of the solution to broader resilience challenges.

Volunteers can help with:

1) Targeted research into economic conditions for soil used in remediation and other sectors.
2) Advice into the strategic direction of the program, including potential grants or funding sources.
3) Guest blog posts or co-authored articles on this topic.

Our impact has been felt across the country, particularly in areas affected by disasters such as Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans where we led green rebuilding efforts and continue to provide assistance and resources to local residents.
