Ayiti Now Corp is a 501(c)(3) organization based in Miami, Florida and created for empowering marginalized Haiti children of poverty (known as "Restavek" in Haitian Creole, the local language) through our educational and support programs.
Role brief: The Education specialist is a virtual volunteer position that works directly with the CEO to plan and review existing content and materials, and organize and/or facilitate instructional and delivery and training of teachers.
Responsibilities:
- Review existing documentation on the education plan
- Researches and defines educational goals, objectives, and methodologies to meet program goals.
- Determines formats and approaches to achieve program objectives; defines needs of target populations; researches trends at the international level.
- Writes, edits, and coordinates development of promotional materials (newsletters, and/or brochures) of our educational programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education
- Minimum experience: 2 yr as a teacher (with Master’s degree) or 3+ yrs (without Master’s degree)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Minimum volunteer hours expected: 6 - 8 hrs per week
- Motivated self starter with the ability to work independently with purpose and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
When onboarding at Haiti Now your first assignment will be to start a fundraising campaign unless your employer has a matching program for volunteering hours. Haiti Now will provide further guidance for you to have a quick and successful fundraiser.
