Caring Hospice Services is a home care based program, which means Patient Visit Volunteer provide emotional support and companionship to patients in their home, assisted living or nursing facility in Fairfield County and Western New Haven County areas. Currently looking for our Ridgefield area.

We are looking for Bereavement Volunteers that offer companionship and support for bereaved family members after the loss of a loved one. The Bereavement Volunteer works under the direction of the Volunteer Coordinator and is supervised by the Bereavement Coordinator. Duties may include making support calls, in-person visits, assisting a grief support group, helping with mailings to families and assisting for the preparation of Memorial Service.

Bereavement Volunteers are required to complete the Patient Visit Volunteer Training and also required to complete an additional 10-hour bereavement training. In keeping the Medicare requirements, Volunteers must undergo a background check, physical test and a 2-step PPD test.
