If someone you love is impacted by mental health challenges, you have a unique opportunity to use your lived experience to inspire and educate others. By becoming a support group facilitator with NAMI Vermont's Family Support Group, you can make a significant difference.
The Family Support Group offers free, 90-minute meetings for family and friends of individuals with a mental health condition. As a facilitator, you'll create a supportive and empathetic environment where participants can listen, share experiences, impart wisdom, and discuss coping strategies. The aim is to empower, educate, and reduce stigma surrounding mental health.
You have the flexibility to organize your support group to meet weekly, every other week, or monthly. Additionally, meetings can be conducted virtually, in-person, or in a hybrid format to accommodate various needs.
As a facilitator, you'll attend a training provided through NAMI Vermont and commit to at least one year of facilitating the support group. Your role involves listening openly, providing empathy, sharing coping strategies, and offering positive support to loved ones and family members of someone with a mental health condition.
Are you ready to make a difference? Register to become a Family Support Group Facilitator with NAMI Vermont at https://namivt.org/form/?type=Training&training=Family+Support+Group+Facilitator+Training and contribute to a community of support and understanding.
