If you are impacted by a mental health condition and want to use your experience to inspire and educate others, consider becoming a peer support group facilitator, a role that is currently needed across all regions of Vermont. As part of the Connection Support Groups, you'll lead peer-led gatherings that offer a supportive and empathetic environment. These groups are a space where individuals can share their lived experience stories, exchange coping strategies, and empower one another in their recovery journey, following a structured model to ensure everyone has a chance to be heard.
You have the flexibility to decide if your support group meets weekly, every other week, or monthly, and whether to meet virtually, in-person, or in a hybrid format. As a facilitator, you will attend training provided through NAMI Vermont and commit to at least one year of facilitating a support group, attending sessions at least once a month. Your role involves listening openly, providing empathy, sharing coping strategies, and offering positive support to peers experiencing mental health challenges.
Are you ready to make a difference? You can register to become a Connection Recovery Support Group Facilitator with NAMI Vermont at https://namivt.org/form/?type=Training&training=Connection+Recovery+Support+Group+Facilitator+Training.
Join us in fostering a community where stories are heard, experiences are shared, and everyone is empowered on their journey to recovery. Volunteer as a Support Group Facilitator with NAMI Vermont today and contribute to a supportive network of recovery.
