Learn how you can give back to the community, earn service hours, and gain work experience/references by joining our summer volunteer team. This information session will let you know about the many great opportunities we have to work with your community during one of our most exciting times of the year. Opportunities may include:

Summer Lunch Program
The Dallas Public Library participates in a Summer Lunch Program. Help us make sure children in need receive nutritious lunch and snacks.

Prize Awarder
The Mayor's Summer Reading Program provides incentives to students who read over the summer. Volunteers will help children record their hours read and hand out prizes.

Children's Program Assistant
Engage children in Mayor's Summer Reading Club activities by helping us implement special programs and events.

Shelver
Help us manage our inventory of books by returning recently used materials back to their assigned spots. This allows children and teens participating in the Mayor's Summer Reading Club to easily locate their desired materials!

Study Buddy
Through a partnership with DISD, volunteers will help us implement a student reading program where children grades 2-5 are paired with a buddy to practice their reading and comprehension.
