  • This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity and as a Project Leader, you are required to contribute a minimum of 8 hours per week and be responsive to emails within 36 hours.
  • Project leaders must be willing to attend weekly/bi-weekly meetings as and when required.

About Us:

Save the Water(tm) is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization whose mission is to conduct water research to identify and remove harmful contaminants in water; and to raise public awareness about water contamination and its health impacts. STW(tm) also offers educational programs to excite young minds about water science.

Our volunteers are diverse professionals from all over the world bringing their knowledge and experience to STW(tm) because we care deeply about our communities and water resources. The Role:

  • Support the Technology Group by managing a team of volunteers in the area of UX Designs and Development

What you will be responsible for......

  • Manage on average 2-3 volunteers within the UX Designers & Development team
  • Plan and conduct monthly engagement & development team meeting, including sending agenda, taking meeting minutes, and follow up
  • Develop a system for obtaining ideas from UX Designers and others in the organization on improvements and suggestions for the STW website. Filter, prioritize, and oversee the changes.
  • Manages and delegates the work for the Associate UX Designers and Associate UX Developers, after gaining approval from the Associate Director of Technology or the Director of Technology.
  • Your team will be responsible for the following:
  • Responsible for placement and removal of sponsor’s materials and ensuring that sponsor’s benefits are being fulfilled.
  • Work with different teams (IT, Marketing, Fundraising, Web Analysts) to define and prioritize features needed to create great user experiences
  • Design and conduct small and medium scale usability tests and other UX research activities to improve the STW website
  • Collaborate with designers and developers to ensure design matches your vision
  • Contribute to user experience best practices and act as an experience evangelist to the organization
  • Keep up-to-date with and display knowledge of market trends and best practices
  • Provide monthly report of your team’s progress to the President and Vice President.
  • Attend monthly Technology group meeting.
  • Keep Timesheet minimum on a weekly basis
  • Complete the Timesheet audit for the Associate Level each month
  • Report to Associate Director for the given project team

  • Bachelors degree or comparable work experience (at least 3 years or more full time paid corporate/non - profit work experience)
  • Requires self-direction, tact, diplomacy and a clear, courteous and professional manner when dealing with the public.
  • Must demonstrate effective oral communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with staff inside and outside of the department.
