Presidio Museum Docent Giving Tour
Presidio Museum Docents give tours of the Museum to individual visitors as well as to groups visiting the Museum.

Are you interested in Tucson's history and looking for a way to share your interest with others? Presidio Museum Docents provide tours and general information to our visitors, and we are always looking for new docents! After completing a brief training, docents work half-day shifts once a week, but once-a-month opportunities are also available.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Presidio San Agustín del Tucson Museum is to promote, preserve, and interpret the natural environment, origins, and history of Tucson and to celebrate its multi-cultural community.

Description

The Presidio San Agustín del Tucson Museum is a re-creation of the Tucson Presidio built in 1775. Visitors travel back in time to learn about life as early Tucsonans would have lived it. Docent tours discuss life in the Santa Cruz Valley for early Native Americans, Presidio residents and Territorial Period settlers. See the archaeological remains of a pit house, walk along the original Presidio wall and experience a 150 year old classic Sonoran Row house.
