Anyone who has been to a Girls on the Run 5K knows that it is unlike any other running event. It is a celebration of and for the girls who are completing a ten week season of Girls on the Run programming.
By the day of the 5K, their enthusiasm is so unbridled that they are running around before the race! Positive energy abounds as the girls dance to warm-up music, get their hair "happied" and "tattoos" on their faces, and gather with their teammates to hold hands as they head to the starting line
At the heart of Girls on the Run are amazing volunteers whose commitment and passion impact the lives of thousands of girls each year. We are in need of people just like you to make our 5K event a success!
This year we are partnering with Startline Racing to be a part of their first Women's Run Series in ABQ. We also have a record number of program participants and are looking for volunteers to help with our FUN stations. This means hair painting, temporary tattoos, face painting (stencils provided) and more! If you want to help bring the energy and joy to race day this is the place for you! There will also be a few opportunities to volunteer directly with the race organizer so let us know your area of interest and we will match you with an opportunity!

Mission Statement
Girls on the Run is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.
Description
At Girls on the Run we inspire girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind. Trained coaches lead small teams through our research-based curricula which includes dynamic discussions, activities and running games. Over the course of the ten-week program, girls in 3rd-5th grade develop essential skills to help them navigate their worlds and establish a lifetime appreciation for health and fitness. The program culminates with girls positively impacting their communities through a service project and being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K event.
