Catawba Regional Hospice is a proud member (level 4, highest level) of the We Honor Veterans program. We Honor Veterans is a national program designed to empower hospice staff to meet the unique needs of terminally ill veterans.
Veterans are needed in Mooresville to provide a pinning ceremony to our Veteran patients. Requested by the patient or family member, this short but special ceremony outwardly acknowledges the Veteran patients service to our country. The Veteran volunteer presents the patient with an American flag pin, along with a certificate representative of their branch of service. Honoring their service and letting our veterans know that we recognize and appreciate their sacrifice can help them find peace at the end of their life’s journey.
All volunteers must complete an application, including 2 personal or professional references, along with a criminal background check.
Two TB skin tests are required. No cost to the volunteer.
Brief training done at a convenient location to the volunteer
Shadow an experienced volunteer to observe a pinning ceremony
