ALS United Greater New York needs YOUR help!

With the 2024 Walk ALS New York City approaching, we hope you will be able to volunteer with us to help make this year’s Walk a success. We need your help on the day of the event to ensure that everyone has a great experience. Because of the energy and support that our volunteers provide on the day, our walkers come back year after year to enjoy the Walk!

  • When: Saturday, May 4th
  • Where: Pier 16 in New York City

Registration opens at 9:00AM, opening ceremonies are at 10:30AM and the Walk begins at 11:00AM, so we’ll need people to volunteer before and/or during the Walk. You can pick whichever time slot that would work best for you! Available timeslot: 8AM-1PM, 8AM-11AM, 10AM-1PM

We can provide up to 5 hours of community service!

  • Route Monitors
  • Water Station
  • T-Shirts
  • Kids Zone
  • Cheer

**will be chosen based on availability and time commitment

Mission Statement

ALS United Greater New York's mission is to support and empower the ALS community through a collaborative approach to fostering bold research initiatives, advancing national and state advocacy, and providing comprehensive care and support to individuals and families affected by ALS.


ALS United Greater New York provides the following services:

  • CARE: Providing local, on-the-ground services to patients and families living with ALS throughout the Greater New York area, including New York City, Long Island, Westchester County, the Hudson Valley, and northern and central New Jersey.
  • ADVOCATE: Supporting advocacy initiatives that broaden governmental backing for research and initiatives that ensure treatments and healthcare are within reach and economically feasible for all ALS patients.
  • RESEARCH: Investing in innovative, state-of-the-art research with the goal of discovering a cure through the latest methodologies and cooperative efforts among government entities, private industry, and scientists.
  • EDUCATION: Raising awareness about ALS to inspire volunteer engagement, activism within the scientific and healthcare communities, and vital public support crucial for the battle against ALS.
