Union Settlement Senior Services is looking for Volunteers willing to provide their services to Seniors during National Volunteer Week. Volunteers will provide their services to help decorate the site, serve food and refreshments, socialize and dance with the seniors, and help with clean up. Help us thank and recognize volunteer’s efforts on Wednesday, April 12th from 10:30 AM to 3 :30 PM.
When: Wednesday, April 12th from 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM
Where: Union Settlement in East Harlem (237 East 104th Street)

Description
Founded more than a century ago, the Settlement has built a strong tradition of responsiveness to community need - developing child health stations early in the century, advocating for equal opportunity in sanitation, public housing and education from its inception. During the Great Depression, the Settlement provided food and employment and hope to many destitute families, preparing them for a better future. The Settlement has grown to become one of the largest human service agencies in East Harlem, serving more than 12,000 individuals on a daily basis out of 16 community locations with essential services including child care, mental health, education, care for the elderly, HIV/Aids services, adult education and much more.
