Centro NYC seeks dedicated volunteers with a passion for intercultural exchange and learning who can be available weekday evenings to ensure the smooth running of our ESL and Spanish programming at our new home near Lincoln Center.
-Greeting students and managing class check-in, as well as new student registrations
-Facilitating nightly "intercambio" break sessions between classes, by preparing/breaking down snack preparations, managing snack sales, and encouraging students to practice language skills
-Participating in major marketing initiatives for the organization
-Admin office tasks such as assisting teaching staff, checking voicemails and returning calls
Volunteers will be expected to meet either Tuesdays OR Thursday evenings from 6:00-9:00pm beginning Tuesday, May 1 st and ending on Thursday, June 21 st. We also hope volunteers can be present during our end of term celebration on Friday, June 22 nd.
If time constraints exist, there may be flexibility around start/end times for shifts.
Foreign language experience a plus.
