The one-on-one relationships that are built in our classrooms are absolutely vital to the work we do at The Children's Place! Connecting with children during your three hour volunteer helps kids who have experienced life's deepest hurts KNOW how to make a connection to others!
Morning Classroom
Classroom volunteers are vital to the work being accomplished at The Children's Place. That is why some of our volunteers have been on staff for 40 years! Our volunteers work directly with the children in our care to overcome challenges, grow, and flourish.
Classroom Assistant volunteers provide essential support to the Day Treatment Services program. Volunteers should be willing to commit to one morning per week from 8:45 a.m. to noon.
Though each classroom is different--depending on the age of the children in the room, general duties of the Classroom Volunteer include: prepping and sitting down to family style meals, facilitating basic skills (e.g. zipping a coat, brushing teeth, washing hands), playing, story reading, playground time, and other tasks.
Volunteers are critical to establishing a consistent, warm atmosphere--as well as helping to provide one-on-one attention to the children who need stimulation, guidance, and nurturing.
Help us make a difference in our community, join us in the classroom today!
