The Arc's Public Relations intern is a stipend eligible position for the 2018-2019 school year. This position assists with public relations efforts of The Arc Minnesota and The Arc’s Value Village thrift stores. Position focuses on communication of The Arc’s Value Village thrift store and The Arc Minnesota brands. Position is also responsible for positively increasing the presence of The Arc brand online and reports to the Thrift Marketing Manager and the Chief Marketing Officer. Duties include:
- Assist in developing a communications plan including strategy, goals and tactics
- Research and categorize media partners by needs, focus and style
- Draft press releases that target specific media partner
- Leverage social media to influence the press release
- Monitor, analyze and communicate PR results to team
- Build external relationships with key media to grow awareness
- Maintain an understanding of industry trends and make recommendations
- A written recap of their experience and what they learned from their internship with Arc
- Other duties as requested
A public relations focused position for the 2018-2019 school year. Most hours are complete Monday-Friday between 8:30am - 5:00pm but their may be occasional evenings and weekends if needed. An exit interview will also be conducted to gauge intern experience and to make recommendations for improvement.
Includes a $1000 stipend payable in December 2018 and May 2019 or the utilization of work-study if eligible. Interested candidates, please email a cover letter and resume to Michelle Theisen at michelletheisen@arcminnesota.org.

The Arc Minnesota is a statewide nonprofit organization that works to promote and protect the human rights of people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Arc helps people navigate systems while working to advance social change centered in justice, equity and belonging in community. Arc's Value Village is a public awareness and revenue generating vehicle for The Arc Minnesota. Arc's Value Village accepts clothing, housewares, art, media, books & related items and sells those items to the community.
