ORGANIZATION: Lexington Pride Center

PCSO, one of Kentucky’s oldest nonprofits serving the LGBTQ+ community, is in need of a few social media wizards to help us communicate better with the community we serve. Your help could enable our resources to reach more people and build your social media skills along the way. We are looking for someone who is proficient with Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter who can bring our social media presence to the next level.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with team to anage PCSO’s various social media accounts
  • Utilize social media management software such as HootSuite in order to maximize our online presence
  • Post consistent, polished messages online that reflect our organization to the public
  • Promote and share events and news from our organization

Lexington Pride Center works to create safe, inclusive spaces where every LGBTQ+ Kentuckian is celebrated and supported. LexPrideCenter works to improve people's lives in the sexual minority and gender-expansive community of Central and Eastern Kentucky by enhancing visibility, empowering community members, and educating the public about issues impacting the said community.

Description

Our objectives are:
- Educate:
The Lexington Pride Center offers community resources, a monthly magazine, social media, and a LGBTQ+ library
- Enhance:
The Lexington Pride Center organizes, participates, and collaborates in distinct visibility activities, such as Lexington's annual Pride Festival
- Empower:
The Lexington Pride Center spear-heads vital programming such as the Gay-Straight Alliance for Youth, discussion groups, and a safe environment at the Pride Center
