About

We are seeking a lawyer, legal researcher or certified public accountant to help us answer a few questions we have about an important set of new initiatives we're doing. Our nonprofit is creating a group of innovative websites and apps to help nonprofits and their supporters raise money for the good work they do. Here is a sample of a nonprofit’s page at one of the websites, named Volunteerathon: http://volunteerathon__nonprofit2.surge.sh/nonprofit/

Here is a sample of a volunteer’s fundraising page: https://vton__fundraiser2.surge.sh/fundraiser/

Another website is Quitathon, where a person quits something that's not good for them and donates some or all of the saved money or time to charity: https://quitathon.surge.sh/nonprofit/

We have many other great ideas for these kinds of apps that all nonprofits and their supporters can use. We're also creating this project to free some of the world's 25 million modern-day slaves -http://www.virtualrailroad.org. After the above is done, we plan to also do other projects to free slaves.

One of the existing purposes of our nonprofit (from our articles of organization and our 1023 with the IRS) is to promote philanthropy and donations to charity. But we need to find out what, if anything, we need to do to be able to receive donations and pass them along to other nonprofits. We of course are able to receive donations because we already receive them. The difference is we will now be passing most of them along to other nonprofits.

For example, do we need to create donor-advised funds, and if yes, what do we need to do to create those? Do we need to file anything special with the IRS?

We are aware that when we start doing new activities, we need to report them on our annual IRS 990 filing. But do we need to do anything else? Is there another option besides doing donor-advised funds?

If you're interested in helping to research the questions above, please let us know.
