Marketing and Social Media Specialist

Primary Responsibilities:

• Daily management of social media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.)
• Collaborate with the Executive Director to ensure the strategic direction and message is executed consistently and properly through platforms
• Track social metrics including mentions, likes, follows, etc.
• Create and execute a social media content strategy and calendar
• Execute social media, experiential and digital marketing campaigns, programs and promotions
• Establish relationships with online communities by identifying key influencers and communities that fit the company's online strategy
• Drive website traffic via social media and build engagement
• Monitor and participate in online conversations via posts to build brand visibility
• Maintain current news/press releases/blog sections on brand websites
• Report performances metrics for all active marketing activities
• Evaluate, recommend, and test new marketing channels including assessing potential traffic sources, negotiating pricing/terms and launching campaigns
• Other assignments and duties as needed

Qualifications

• A degree in marketing, public relations or related field preferred; 1-2 years related experience; or a combination of equivalent experience/ or education
• Working knowledge in strategic planning, managing and executing social initiatives
• Knowledge of digital marketing current best practices and understanding of digital production processes
• Knowledge of social media legal guidelines
• Proficient in MS office, social media applications and monitoring
• Strong communication skills; solid writing and editing background
• Strong project management skills
• Ability to build relationships and positively collaborate with others
• Ability to manage time and juggle different initiatives simultaneously
• Website design, development, and maintenance is a plus
• Experience working with nonprofits is a plus
