The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. As this natural disaster unfolds, the staff here at VolunteerMatch is doing its part to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you are prepared and safe. Perform administrative tasks such as filing, emailing, etc.
Prepare agendas and materials for meetings
Conduct research; gather and synthesize information
Work on special projects such as outreach, grant development, or project support. Assist with organizational needs like deployment/project tracking
Represent the organization via phone or in-person meetings
Handle sensitive organizational information confidentially
Other assignments and duties as needed
Experience: Relevant administrative and organizational experience in nonprofits preferred; technology savvy; computer fluency (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Google apps, etc.); Website design, development, and maintenance is a plus
Communication skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to convey core concepts and capture written style/voice of the organization and the person you are representing in the communication
Interpersonal skills: Ability to positively interact with staff and external partners; collaborative and team-oriented
Organizational skills: Well-organized, deadline and detail-oriented
Flexibility: Ability to manage assignments/deadlines; comfortable with changes in priority and direction; a desire to learn and grow, integrating feedback to improve work quality
Commitment: Interest in and commitment to performing essential administrative duties and creating effective administrative systems
*Most work can be done virtual, must attend Royal Love quarterly meetings held in Los Angeles County.
