The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. As this natural disaster unfolds, the staff here at VolunteerMatch is doing its part to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you are prepared and safe. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know about the most effective ways to contribute.
How can YOU help Habitat for Humanity of Mason County?
Our volunteer committees are well functioning groups that are an integral part of helping the families who are applying and building their homes. The committees include Family Selection, Family Support, Fundraising and Church Relations. We welcome new members to these committees - it may not take more than one day a month, sometimes less. A love of meeting people and helping others is all you need.
The Belfair and Shelton Habitat Stores also need dedicated volunteers! You can help out as a Volunteer Sales Associate or Donation Pick Up Assistant. As a Volunteer in the store, you may work with Store staff collecting and receiving donated materials, cleaning and stocking items on the sales floor, cleaning and organizing the store, and greeting or assisting customers as needed. These positions are available Monday- Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Your commitment is as flexible as you'd like it to be!
Our Construction Program works Monday though Wednesday on a weekly basis, from 9:00 am until mid afternoon. We're generally working on a single house at a time. Skilled and unskilled volunteers are welcome!
