THEATRE BY THE BLIND
Theatre by the Blind, the country’s only theatre troupe composed entirely of blind actors, helps blind and visually impaired individuals become self-sufficient using theatre-based programs and original performances to help them to successfully navigate through today’s society. Theatre by the Blind provides participants with a constructive and creative forum to confront their challenges while informing the public, raising awareness, and changing perceptions about the capabilities of the blind. These remarkable individuals create and perform original theatrical works that empower and inspire program participants and audiences alike.

CRE Outreach is looking for a dedicated and creative volunteer that has experience with graphic design. We would like to find someone who is well versed in creating print material as well as material for social media. We have an amazing opportunity as we have just opened the first of its kind theater for all undersized populations including the ONLY BLIND THEATER COMPANY IN THE COUNTRY. We have a very full schedule of performances and need to create captivating collateral for these shows. This is an opportunity that could lead to an actual position in our organization.

MISSION
CRE Outreach is a non-profit performing arts organization dedicated to empowering underserved individuals from low-income populations in greater Los Angeles. CRE stands for Create, Reflect, Empower-words that encompass the process, focus, and targeted outcomes of our programs. Since 2007, CRE Outreach has utilized theatre, the performing arts, and educational programs as a means to enhance self-esteem, encourage self-expression, and empower individuals to overcome the challenges in their lives.

PURPOSE
Through our innovative performing arts programming, CRE Outreach actively engages approximately 2,650 individuals from many diverse segments of the greater Los Angeles community (including at-risk youth, people with disabilities, and military veterans), helping them overcome the challenges in their lives and successfully navigate through today’s society. CRE Outreach confronts the many challenges that our participants face and seeks to break down the barriers that contribute to the isolation and cultural divide felt by many in these communities. Our work provides a constructive and creative forum for individuals with limited accessibility to the arts to bring issues to the forefront and let their voice be heard.

Theatre By the Blind

Theatre by the Blind a performing arts program that provides visually impaired actors with an opportunity to push the limits of their disability through the dynamic medium of theatre. Theatre by the Blind is the only entirely blind adult theatre troupe in the country that creates and performs original theatrical works. Through this program these actors demonstrate that being visually impaired cannot limit their success.
