In support of our contract with the Santa Clara Valley Habitat Agency, Santa Clara Valley Audubon Society continues to reach out for volunteers to help manage the Burrowing Owl habitat site in Alviso. These owls need our help to continue to thrive in the increasingly urbanized environment around them. Please lend a hand to help these incredible birds.

Upcoming project details are found below.

Project: Removal of invasive weeds around burrows to improve Burrowing Owl habitat

Date: Saturday, March 30, 2019

Time: 9:00AM-12:00PM

Meeting Place: Alviso, exact location given via email

What to Bring: Water, rubber boots or change of footwear (habitat can be wet), hat, sunblock, and appropriate clothing and footwear (the project will involve some hiking over rough terrain, so flip-flops and shorts are not recommended). Gloves and hand tools will be provided.

**Volunteers MUST be 18 years or older**

Please Note: There are no bathroom facilities on site, so please use the restroom before attending. Also, please only volunteer if you are able to arrive on time and stay for the entire time. The work area is far behind a locked gate, and so late arrivals/early departures would cause the biologists to stop their work for an extended period of time. Thank you for understanding.

If you are interested in this project, please contact Kelly at outreach@scvas.org. Volunteers MUST RSVP at least 48 hours prior to the project date. Once I have received your email I will forward you the map to the meeting place and further information.

On behalf of SCVAS and the Burrowing Owls who benefit from your work, thank you.
