DescriptionAssists adults in improving their English skills through practice in a conversational small group setting.
Volunteer needed to co-teach a beginner ESL class on Friday mornings 10-11:30 AM starting in mid-April.
Preferred qualifications: TESOL degree, graduate classwork or experience with teaching or tutoring beginners.Duties: Plans and leads small group activities and discussions for adults learning English. Provides opportunities for participants to practice English language skills. Reports attendance to library staff and keeps library staff informed of any issues. Reports volunteer hours promptly and accurately.
Qualifications: Fluent in the English language. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Friendly, outgoing and personable. Ability to talk effectively with speakers of other languages. Patience. Willingness to respond to specific needs of group participants.
