Do you like to talk to people? Are you able to volunteer 1 or 2 times per quarter? Do you want to learn more about Special Olympics?

Special Olympics North Carolina wants to continue to spread the word about our mission, volunteering and fundraising opportunities. We have opportunities to present to a variety of corporate and volunteer groups throughout the year but we don't have enough staff members to present to all these groups.

What we do have are athletes that are trained Global Messengers! Our athletes are happy to speak on our behalf at these events. We need people who are willing to attend these events as special Olympics advocates with an athlete and be able to answer specific questions about upcoming events. We will provide training.

Once trained we will provide details of upcoming events and ask that 1 or 2 Advocates sign up. This is not a group public speaking role, but instead you would help answer questions, help set up materials, and show how special Olympics has impacted your life. As a special Olympic advocate, you would be volunteering anywhere from 90 minutes to 4 hours depending on your schedule.
