As an ASL (American Sign Language) Volunteer, you would provide the patient with socialization, companionship and emotional support. But most of all, be available for someone dealing with terminal diagnosis.

Volunteer activities could also include interpreting on behalf of patients, engaging patients in playing card or board games, doing crafts, etc.

Volunteers are given assignments close to where they live, work or go to school.
