We are looking for a volunteer to pick up donations of food from Whole Foods Market in Blue Back Square in West Hartford on Friday mornings and bring it to Freshplace, our fresh food pantry on our main campus at 255 Homestead Avenue, Hartford, CT. Volunteers should own or have access to a minivan or SUV. You can pick up between 8:00 and 9:00 am and then head to Freshplace so we can help you unload. The process should take no more than an hour, depending on where the volunteer lives in relation to Whole Foods.
The food donated by Whole Foods will be used at Freshplace, our innovative onsite food pantry, to provide nutritious, fresh food to Freshplace members from Hartford's North End.
We will be observing strict social distancing, including wearing masks and gloves. We are looking for volunteers who are not in the high risk group for COVID-19 (over 60 years old or with a condition that affects the immune system).
