ORGANIZATION: Volunteers of America Northern Colorado Services

The Volunteers of America Grocery Program is quickly growing as many community members are in need of grocery assistance. The Grocery program utilizes the help of volunteers to call, shop, and deliver groceries to home-bound seniors and adults with disabilities. Volunteer opportunities are available to be a delivery driver and meet some of the clients who use the program. Delivery Driver volunteers pick up the groceries for the people on their route (usually 3 - 4) from Safeway (1451 W Eisenhower Blvd.) then take the groceries to the clients and chat with them for a bit while unloading the groceries. This is sometimes the only personal interaction some of the people have in the entire day. Description

The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Volunteers of America provides volunteer opportunities for individuals 55 years and older to use their skills, insight and lifetime experiences to assist residents and non-profit agencies in the county. RSVP also offers a variety of programs which provide services and enhance the quality of life for seniors.
