Man's best friends (and their owners) are needed to provide companionship to animal-loving hospice patients.
There are a number of needing people that wish for comfort and companionship during their last journeys in life. Dogs have the ability to soothe and console like no other, but you already know that. The benefits of dog visits are physical, emotional, and social, according to The Alliance of Therapy Dogs. Come join the movement!
Grace Hospice Dog Therapy Volunteers provide companionship and support with patient visits. We are in need of therapy dogs in the Akron/Canton and surrounding areas. We'll match you with an animal-loving patient close by, and YOU dictate the time according to your schedule. It's a win-win for everyone!
To make this kind of difference, or to receive information regarding certification of your fur-baby, please contact Johanna Henderson, Volunteer Coordinator at Grace Hospice. 330-899-0180 or jhenderson@ghospice.com.
Thank You!

Description
Hospice is the health care system that mandates the involvement of volunteers. This reflects the history of the hospice movement in the United States, which started as an all-volunteer system.
Hospice is designed to provide comfort care as well as spiritual and emotional support in the final phase of a terminal illness. At HarmonyCares Hospice, we focus on enhancing the quality of life and our Volunteers play a key role in our mission. The hospice philosophy reaches beyond the physical needs of a patient and ensures that a patient spend their final days in comfort and with dignity.
HarmonyCares Hospice volunteers are as diverse as our professional staff. Compassion and caring are the hallmarks of any great hospice volunteer, and their involvement is a vital part of our team.
