Give someone a few minutes of your time and see how wonderful you both can feel!!!!!!!!!!!
During these difficult times we are all experiencing isolation and there are more seniors stuck inside with little to no reason to smile. Our Friendly Visitor Program offers an opportunity to visit someone either in-person or over the phone. Pre-qualified seniors, Veterans and adults with disabilities are looking for a connection with someone willing to listen, share stories and give them something to look forward to, could that be you visiting or making a phone call? Amazingly only a few hours of your time can mean the world to them.
Register with Agency on Aging of South Central CT’s Volunteer program and see how you can help. Masks available for both clients and volunteers along with gloves, antibacterial wipes and whatever will allow both parties to feel safe.
Supported by a Federal Grant from AmeriCorps there is no income limit related to becoming involved the only stipulation is that you be over 55. Volunteers receive training, support and supplemental insurance, during service delivery hours, to complement their existing insurance.
