- folks are looking for a connection with someone willing to sit with them and have a conversation and fill the void of a limited social network.
- some individuals would love to go to the grocery store and pick out their own food instead of having it delivered or pay someone to pick it up.
- and how about going for a walk, the senior center and/or the gym!
- Our Non-Emergency Medical Chaperone Program offers companionship to individuals while traveling to and from their doctor appointments.
- some folks need a little encouragement and support in getting to and from their appointments as transportation services are curb to curb and they may need help getting to that curb.
Volunteers need to be over the age of 21, complete and application, pass a background check, which requires a government issued ID, and Social Security, and we request proof of Covid vaccination. Training is provided by the Agency on Aging of South Central CT’s Volunteer program.
