Purpose of Role: Hennepin County’s Healthcare for the Homeless at Youthlink’s drop in facility provides a variety of health and wellness services to homeless youth. This clinic address health concerns, provides treatment, manages medication, coordinates health services, provides health education and coordinates access to health and social services in the community. The main purpose of this role is to work with clinic supervisor to creatively organize visual information for the clinic space at Youthlink so that health information is displayed for clients. The secondary purpose is to, as needed, update and create informational and promotional flyers for the Youthlink clinic.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Creatively organize the bulletin board in the clinic lobby with health information and opportunities for clients who visit the clinic
  • Work alongside clinic supervisor to identify specific needs for marketing and communication tools for the clinic
  • Update and create flyers, posters, and brochures to be visually appealing for targeted audiences- in this case the clients of the clinic as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Be skilled in creatively designing spaces where health information is displayed for clients of the clinic
  • Creative and out of the box thinker
  • Excellent skills in designing an informational or promotional flyer
  • Be able to see a project from start to finish
  • A sense of responsibility toward the position demonstrated by good attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to professionally communicate with the VCPP Team and Youthlink team
  • Be able to work independently, confidently, and with a positive attitude, and also take direction from supervisor
  • Must be 18 years or older and pass a standard background check

Time Commitment and Location:

  • 2-4 hours per week as needed and schedule is flexible.
  • Based out of Youthlink (41 N 12 TH St, Minneapolis, MN 55403) but may be able to work from home.

Supervision:

  • The role is supervised and directed by Healthcare for Homeless Staff.

Description

The work of our Department tends to fall into three major areas:

  1. Increasing safety and stability of individuals and families through services such as child and adult protection, providing temporary emergency shelter, and more.
  2. Promoting self-reliance and a livable income through a mixture of federal and state programs, such as SNAP (food support), Child Support, Veterans' Service, cash assistance programs and more.
  3. Improving the health of the community through public health care programs, restaurant inspections, regulating emergency medical services, providing crisis response to behavioral health emergencies, immunization services, a public health clinic, and more.
