Communications Committee Member
Public Art Reston is seeking skilled volunteers to join its Communications Committee. The role of the Communications Committee is to support the overall comprehensive marketing and communications strategy for Public Art Reston. The committee partners with staff to oversee a consistent and active communication strategy to all stakeholders for the purposes of program messaging, fundraising, awareness, and branding. The Committee provides guidance on the implementation of the marketing and communications plans. All communications committee members should have a background in marketing, development, graphic design, media, communications, or public relations and should have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The Communications Committee meets approximately 6 times/year, usually on Wednesdays from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. Committee members can serve up to two three-year terms.

Public Art Reston seeks to inspire an ongoing commitment to public art and create a new generation of artworks in Reston.
Public Art Reston works with community organizations and developers to commission permanent and temporary public art in Reston. Public Art Reston was founded in 2007 and is the first non incorporated community in the United States to have adopted the "Public Art Master Plan for Reston". Public Art Reston offers artists talks, documentary public art film screenings, community engagement activities, including the chalk festival ChalkFest at Reston Town Center (September).
